Scott Hahn's "A Father Who Keeps His Promises" (Part 1)

(Part 1 of 2.) I had the pleasure of presenting some reflections based on Scott Hahn’s A Father Who Keeps His Promises at a parish gathering recently. Some themes covered in this two-part presentation:

  • How the fear of God and intimacy with God are complementary, not contradictory.
  • Why covenant is more than a contract.
  • Why Jesus is the key for understanding the “hard parts” of the Old Testament.
  • What it means for God to call us “sons” rather than “slaves.”
